A Few Of Our Favorite Things: Northern Virginia Wineries

Wine glasses and barrels

Did you know…
Virginia is now ranked the 5th largest wine producing state?

There are so many perks to living in this area, including the fact that you don’t have to fly to Napa to take in gorgeous scenery and sip on delicious wines. Virginia is home to about 200 wineries…and best part is, many are right here in Northern Virginia.

Here are our personal favorites for you to check out this fall!

Sunset Hills Vineyard in Purcellville

With fun events and live music all throughout the autumn season, Sunset Hills is the perfect place to relax on the weekends. Tastings are $10 and it’s dog and kid friendly too!

Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane

Located just one hour from D.C., this winery has beautiful views of the countryside and award winning wines. Schedule a tour and try their amazing wines!

Tarara Winery in Leesburg

Not only does Tarara Winery offer tastings for $10, but you can also reserve a Premier Tasting on Saturdays in their private, elegant dining room. The tasting is presented by one of their wine educators and includes delicious cheeses from our region. Also, be sure to also check out their events calendar for concert dates!

Chrysalis Vineyard in Middleburg

Chrysalis has everything you need; great wine, beautiful scenery, picnic tables, gas grills and plenty of room for children to play. Stop by for a tasting (7 wines for $5) or schedule one for a group ($10 for 12 wines) and enjoy!
